Description

Complete cell membrane support from Sunflower Lecithin (NON-GMO) in aneasy-to-drink, tasteless powder.

The phospholipids; Phosphatidylcholine (PC), Phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and Phosphatidylinositol (PI) are essential components of our cell membranes. They are critical for proper membrane structure and function as well as repair and maintenance of cellular health. Impairment of cell-
membrane integrity, fluidity and/or repair mechanisms are associated with a number of disorders, including liver disease, neurological diseases, various cancers, immune system impairment and cell death. Phospholipids have been shown in the scientific literature to specifically support the hepatobiliary, immune and neurological systems. The sunflower plant is rich
in naturally occurring phospholipids, which is important because most phospholipid products on the market are extracted from GMO-soy.

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is the most abundant phospholipid in cell membranes. It especially plays a key role in proper liver function. PC alsothe major delivery form of the essential nutrient choline. Choline itself is a precursor in the synthesis of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, the methyl donor betaine and phospholipids, including phosphatidylcholine and sphingomyelin among others. PC is involved in the hepatic export of LDL and has a fluidizing effect on cellular membranes, making them flexible. Decreased cell-membrane fluidization and flexibility are associated with a number of diseases. PC may be indicated to help restore liver function in a number of disorders, includ-ing alcoholic fibrosis, and possibly viral hepatitis.

There is some evidence that PC may be useful in the management of Alzheimer’s disease and some other cognitive disorders. PC’s possible antiviral effects are related to the supplement’s ability to increase cellular membrane fluidity and repair the membranes of liver cells. Phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) is the second most abundant phospholipid in human cells. PE comprises about 15-25% of the total lipid and is enriched in the inner leaflet of membranes, and it is especially abundant in the inner mitochondrial membrane. PE functions as a lipid chaperone that assists in the folding of certain membrane proteins.

It is required for the activity of several of the respiratory complexes and it plays a key role in the initiation of autophagy. Phosphatidylinositol (PI) compromises the minority of phospholipids in cell membranes. PI’s principal role is instructional – they function to interact with proteins. Cell membranes employs a characteristic species of PI, which attracts a specific protein to that membrane. Phosphatidylinositol’s also regulate the activity level of the integral membrane proteins.

This product can be mixed in any non-carbonated beverage, preferably taken at least 5 hours before bedtime.
